Certificate of Personal Effectiveness Level 3
The Certificate of Personal Effectiveness Level 3 is a new qualification that carries 70 UCAS points. This is more than A grade at AS Level. It is unlike other AS options in that there is no set curriculum and students are expected to work largely independently. It is an excellent preparation for university as it develops key skills that all university students need to succeed.
Structure
- Students need to complete credits form a minimum of 3 modules, providing portfolio evidence of completion of all the activities undertaken.
- Students need to demonstrate competence in the wider key skills of Working with Others, Improving Own Learning and Performance and Problem Solving at Level 3.
- Students need to demonstrate competence in the units Planning and Giving and Oral Presentation at Level 3.
Students choose challenges from the following areas:
- Active Citizenship
- Work Related Activities
- Career Planning
- Global Awareness
- Enrichment Activities
- Research and Presentation Skills
The Certificate of Personal Effectiveness at Level 3 takes 150 hours to complete although if you have already gained CoPE at Level 2 you can count this towards your Level 3 work which will reduce the time needed to gain the qualification.
