BTEC Business
An Edexcel Level 2 BTEC First Diploma in Business will offer you the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding relevant to any type of business. Since innovation and problem solving are valuable skills in business, the course focuses on creative and analytical thinking through investigating, predicting and planning. You will be encouraged to be imaginative in the way you gather your evidence.
Course aims
The BTEC First Diploma in Business is intended to provide students with an introduction to business and to provide an appropriate course for students wishing to enter employment in business or continue with further education.
The course is equivalent to four GCSEs. It develops a range of important skills and in addition to the diploma, students will be able to accredit their skills through a basic skills package.
Course content
Students have to complete six units. The course content includes Exploring Business Purposes, Investigating Financial Control, Developing Customer Relations, Business Communication, People and Organisations and Starting a Business. It is assessed through internally set assignments. Links to industry are made through the use of visits and case studies and we intend to participate in a European visit to focus on Business Development.
