BTEC First in Art
The BTEC First in Art will offer students the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in Art and Design. It is an appropriate course for students wishing to pursue a career in the field of art, design, fashion, textiles, advertising and art gallery work.
Entry requirements
A good grade at Art GCSE is the best foundation for success at Intermediate level.
You should have an interest in creating and understanding art and a determination to develop that interest.
Course aims
The BTEC First in Art is intended to provide students with an introduction to Art and Design and to provide a pathway for an Advanced Level course.
Course content
Students have to complete six units. The course content includes Art and Design modules, Sculpture and
Interior Design.
Commitment
One year course, sixteen periods per week. Students have to complete several assignments throughout the year and complete a basic skills programme.
Level 3
If this course is completed successfully you can progress onto a Level 3 Performing Arts course.
