CHARITIES

There are two major charitable appeals during each academic year, which take place during Advent and Lent. As a school community our intentions is to raise £100 per form group and every student is involved.

 

 

Events are supported during the year include a coffee morning for Macmillan Nurses in September, ‘Wear It Pink’ in October supporting awareness of Breast Cancer, Shoe Box Appeal in November – where we fill a shoebox with gifts and items for a child to open over the Christmas period all sent with our love and best wishes.

Each July a group of sixth formers joins the Westminster diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes as ‘Red Cap’ helpers to elderly and infirm pilgrims known as ‘malades’. Their participation is self-funded and students who wish to join the pilgrimage spend several months in and out of school fundraising.

Other charities that have recently been supported by our students through the school include:

• The Catholic Children’s Society;
• The Sisters of Jesus & Mary;
• CAFOD;
• St Luke’s Hospice, Kenton; and
