Chapel & St Claudine’s House

At the heart of our school is a place of prayer.

Our chapel is a place of calm and quiet, an oasis in the busy environment of the school. It is always available for students and staff to take some quiet time for prayer and reflection. The Blessed Sacrament is reserved in the Tabernacle, keeping Christ present at the heart of our community.

In the chapel stands a statue of Our Lady of Willesden. It is a tangible link both to the Shrine of Our Lady of Willesden, of whose parish this school forms a part, and to the ancient Catholic heritage of this country.

Stations of the Cross are arranged around the walls of the chapel, a Paschal candle stands near the altar and a Book of the Dead, compiled each November for the month of the Holy Souls, commemorates the names of the loved ones of members of our community who have died.

 

During Advent and Lent, Morning Prayer is said in the chapel by students and staff, and throughout the year class liturgies and reflections take place here.

We also have an on-site Retreat centre, St Claudine’s House, opened in 1998 by Cardinal Basil Hume, where the Chaplaincy office is situated and where much of the work of the Chaplaincy team takes place.
